26 Weeks Yesterday! October 20, 2009

Filed under: Baby Shaver — katshaver @ 2:19 pm

I went to the doctor yesterday for our 26 week check up and everything is looking good!  Jenna has been measuring on the big side of normal for the last two appointments, which doesn’t mean anything really, just that she is growing consistently.  My next appointment in a month at 30 weeks, we will get an ultrasound!! I am SO excited we get to see her again!  After that appointment we will be going every 2 weeks.  I can’t believe that we only have 14 more weeks before we get to meet Little Jenna!!

I am feeling pretty good, still getting sick from time to time and the heartburn,  OH the HEARTBURN!!  My right thigh has been numb for about 2 weeks now and there is really nothing I can do about it, but all and all a small price to pay for the miracle of a daughter we will have in not too much longer!

Tucker is really starting to see and feel her kick.  Jenna already loves her daddy! :) Every time Tucker talks to her or puts his ear to my belly to listen for her she kicks him.  He doesn’t think it’s so funny, but Jenna and I do!  We laugh all the time thinking about her in there just chillin’ ,  it’s almost alien like.

We have a lot going on within the next couple of months!  We will be moving starting next week, just right down the street, but still moving nonetheless!  We have friends throwing us 2 showers that I am super excited about!  We have the holidays which everyone says will make the time pass that much faster so I am looking forward to that!  Oh yeah and we have a baby on the way!! We are so thankful for everything that we are blessed with.  We really couldn’t ask for anything more!

25 Weeks! October 13, 2009

Yesterday was 25 weeks! That means only 15 weeks left to go!!! :) I feel like time is creeping by until I look back and think that 25 weeks have passed, WOW!  I know it will be here before I know it.  I am growing more and more everyday.  I took some pictures over the weekend at a friends wedding of the ever growing “bump”.

Tucker and MeI have been feeling pretty good lately, only getting sick once every few weeks.  The only annoyance that I have is my right thigh.  Jenna is hanging out on whatever nerve it is that goes down my right thigh making it VERY numb.  The doctor says try laying on your left side, but that doesn’t work.  I guess she will move when she is ready.  Stubborn already! :) Must take after her father!! haha

Tucker and Me SittingI only have 2 more Doctor appointments before I start going every 2 weeks.  I LOVE going to the doctor and getting checkups so I am excited about going more often.  At 30 weeks I get one more ultrasound, YAY!  I can’t wait to see her again, hopefully she will be moving more than she was on our last ultrasound.

The wind is making my hair CRAZY!

My family hosted a shower for us in Birmingham on October 3rd and it was GREAT.  We got so many great gifts and I will post on that later.  I can’t thank everyone enough for all the gifts and love they have given Jenna, Tucker and myself.

Hannah’s Gluten Free World October 1, 2009

Filed under: Family — katshaver @ 9:49 am

Last year around Thanksgiving, my beautiful niece Hannah Fauteux was diagnosed with Celiac disease.  This basically means that she can not eat gluten which is in a LOT of foods!  Hannah has always had what we all thought was a weak stomach and would get sick more often than normal.  She already subconsciously ate more foods that were gluten free (i.e. she loves salads and hasn’t ever cared for sandwiches) so as it was an adjustment she knows that eating the wrong foods will make her stomach hurt.  Since last Thanksgiving she has been on a strict gluten free diet and she has done GREAT!  Since January 2009 she has put on 7 lbs (one side affect from Celiac Disease is that you don’t grow, gain weight).  I am so proud of Hannah and how well she has adjusted to truly being a “picky eater”!!  My point for this post is for you to check out her website and to follow her journey as she deals with Celiac Disease which is becoming more and more common.  If you know of anyone who may have this disease please feel free to pass on this link!
